Psychiatric Medication Management
What is Psychiatric Medication Management?
Psychiatric medication management is a specialized service focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions through the use of medications. It begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. From there, a personalized plan is developed, which may include prescribing medication to help manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and more. Ongoing follow-up appointments ensure that the treatment remains effective, with adjustments made as needed. Medication management is most effective when integrated with therapy, offering a holistic and coordinated approach to mental health care.
What to expect at your first appointment?
Your first psychiatric medication management appointment is a comprehensive evaluation lasting approximately 60–90 minutes. During this visit, Faune Kretchman, PMHNP-BC, will take time to understand your mental health history, current symptoms and concerns, medical background, life experiences, and treatment goals. This is not a therapy session - it’s a space to explore what you are going through and begin building a treatment plan that feels right for you. Based on this assessment, Faune will discuss possible diagnoses, whether medication may be appropriate, and outline a personalized plan moving forward. Together, you can explore medication options as well as lifestyle, nutritional, or other supportive approaches. This is a collaborative process - questions are always welcome, and no decisions are made without your input and comfort. Our goal is to come alongside you, listen to what matters most, and work together to help you feel better in every area of life - body, mind, and soul.
