Michael Lockwood, MSW, LCSW-PIP
CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Michael Lockwood is a clinical social worker who has had a variety of career experiences that have included school social work, group home manager, home health and hospice care, therapist at a residential treatment center, and therapist at outpatient treatment clinic. Michael has a special interest in serving families, marriages, issues with parenting, teenagers, and children. Michael considers himself to be a Christian-based provider, as these beliefs shape his worldview and guidance to himself and others. Michael uses evidenced-based methodologies that include: client-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist him in his practice.
Michael grew up in the Twin Cities and went to college in Duluth, MN. Michael recently moved to Aberdeen, SD from MN with his wife of 20+ years and they have been blessed with 5 children. A few of the activities that Michael enjoys are attending church, camping, fishing, hockey, playing/listening to music, watching movies, and volunteering/service work.
Michael is based in Aberdeen, SD and is licensed in South Dakota. He is currently offering in-office and telehealth counseling.
